Issues on bringing all communities in Marsabit county together, peace and harmony, security and a lasting solution to the water problems in the county are among the top issues that will be tackled by the NASA government once it gets into power.

This was according to the coalition’s leaders during their campaign visit to the county. Led by Moses Wetangula, Senators James Orengo and Johnstone Muthama, the NASA leaders said that peace is paramount to development.

Wetangula said that their manifesto has focused on counties facing security and drought issues. The leader also said that the county has lost leaders in a plane crash in search for peace. It is due to such situations that their manifesto focuses on peace and the bringing together people from all communities in the county.

The NASA principal added that NASA will ensure that the county will have industries to provide employment for the youth. He also added that the NASA government will not allow Kenyans to suffer of hunger as is currently being witnesses.

Siaya Senator James Orengo said that the maize shortage of maize being faced in the nation was caused by exportation of the maize and then buying from Mexico. Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama emphasized on the fact that Kenyans are suffering due to the poor governance by President Uhuru and the Jubilee Government.

The NASA team therefore asked people to vote for Raila come August 8th. They expressed the hope that Raila will win with a landslide of over 15 million votes. They also urged police to refrain from arresting people on the eve of election to ensure that many people exercise their democratic right come 8th of August .

NASA principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi did not make for the Marsabit campaign rally. According to the ODM spokesperson Phillip Etale, Raila could not make it for the rally because he had attended the burial of the late Joseph Kasaine Ole Nkaisery.

However, earlier communication made by the spokesperson to the media earlier stated that the rally had been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. He had said that the meeting would be organised for a later date.

The NASA leaders were expected to visit Laisamis, Marsabit and Moyale to sell the coalition’s policies to the people of Marsabit County. Etale assured NASA supporters in the county that the rally could be organised again soon.
