All the 30 members of the Marsabit county assembly were sworn in early yesterday. The MCA’s were sworn in from 9 am in a ceremony led by the Marsabit County Assembly clerk, Muhamud Kamaya.
Among those sworn in were 20 MCA’s elected from different parties in the August 8th elections and 10 nominated.
However, Abdirazak Mohamed Hassan was not sworn in after his name was removed from the national gazette after it was ascertained that he was a voter in Nyeri. His position was filled by Hussein Abdi.
After the swearing in ceremony, the first county assembly seating was scheduled to begin on 13th September where the new governor, Mohamed Mahmud Ali will give his first speech as governor.
